Worsfold Media Services has worked with an impressive range of clients using David’s proven knowledge and expertise. These include journalism, training, media consultancy, presentations and facilitating, marketing and social media.

DAC Beachcroft

Created the 2020 and 2021 DAC Beachcroft Informed Insurance thought leadership content programmes around the theme of Critical Uncertainties, writing much of the original content and commissioning other elements. This was followed up in January 2021 with the themed Predictions. Have also run a series of Better Business Writing workshops and courses for DAC Beachcroft’s London and regional offices. These have been a mixture of short lunchtime sessions, half-day and full-day courses. A detailed course outline is available.

For COP26 wrote a series of daily blogs for partners highlighting the relevant issues for the insurance market.

Regular contributor to Insurance Post and its sister publication Insurance Age. Among the topics covered in 2021 for Post were the impact of Brexit, regulatory reform, the hard market, Scottish independence and state-backed reinsurance; and for Insurance Age the fallout from the aborted Aon-Willis merger, US investment in UK brokers and regulation in Gibraltar.

Also contributed several in-depth historical reviews to the series celebrating Post’s 180th anniversary of continuous publication in 2020, including one recounting the scandal-riven 1980s and 1990s with many contributions from market participants at the time.


Delivered a wide range of editorial and presentation skills training, including putting together the successful Editorial Training programme for new entrants to the profession. Many of the face-to-face courses on the programme were devised and delivered by David. See Editorial Training for the topics David can cover. Managed entry and judging process for Incisive Media Awards for several years, as well as script-writing and production support for the awards ceremonies.

Continued to deliver training courses for the re-launched Incisive Media during 2018 and 2019 and also for Infopro Digital which now owns the insurance and risk brands of the old Incisive Media portfolio.

In addition, in early 2020, ran several presentation skills courses for other leading specialist publishers, including Legal Week, Shard Media and the International Data Group. These included publishers, editorial, sales and marketing teams.

Launched the highly successful Women in Insurance Awards for Incisive Media in 2019. Devised the categories, criteria, recruited the judging panel and managed the shortlisting and judging processes. This attracted over 500 nominations and entries, a huge number for the first year of a new award scheme. Script writing and presenting for the awards ceremony.

Grew the awards in 2020 in 2021 and worked with the Incisive Media team to deliver an effective virtual presentation ceremony for 2020 before returning to in-person awards in 2021.

During lockdown ran online courses for EMAP, Mark Allen group on media law for journalists and returned to face-to-face training with courses for Mark Allen on digital journalism.

Writing on inflation and central bank interest rate policies for World Finance.

Written on a wide range of topics for the Insurance Investment Exchange as part of a series of regular commentaries and reports of its events. These cover macro-economic, regulatory and investment topics. Devised and managed in inaugural IIE Awards in March 2017 and developed them further in 2018 and 2019.


Prepared detailed report on options for online development of key products. Delivered training on digital journalism. Devised and managed industry award schemes for International Adviser, including the Best Practice Adviser Awards, entering their fifth year in 2020, and the Global Financial Services Awards, launched in 2018.

Planned, compiled, edited and wrote articles for the IA 100, launched in October 2018, with a second edition in November 2020.

Worked with Grist, a leading content marketing agency, producing top quality content for a wide range of clients in the insurance, banking and legal sectors. These include thought-leadership articles, profiles, technical features and shorter, topical pieces. Also facilitated roundtables using the content to foster deeper engagement with end clients.


Contributed features on driverless cars, the Insurance Act, data mining, GDPR and other topics to the Telegraph Risk Insights series.

Facilitated a series of half day seminars for fund selectors hosted by Expert Investor during 2016 and 2017. These are interactive with a mixture of presentations and panel sessions.

They took place around Europe and David chaired events in Brussels, Stockholm, Barcelona, Milan, Oslo, Luxembourg, Reykjavik and Munich.

Writes and produces regular Email Bulletins and website updates for the Worshipful Company of Insurers and advises on media strategy. Created and launched the WCI’s social media presence in November 2018. Wrote and sourced visual and multi-media content for the WCI’s new philanthropy website in 2019.

Leyton Orient

Devised and delivered social media training and advice for young professional footballers in the Leyton Orient Academy, many of whom have gone on to establish themselves in the professional game.
