David is a skilled, knowledgeable and experienced journalist

It goes without saying that top quality writing is at the heart of his skillset, whether that be news, features, profiles, in-depth analysis or thought-leadership. His areas of expertise include insurance, financial services, investment, regulation, policy and politics. He has written extensively on a wide range of other subjects including British history, music and sport.

Training is one of his key specialist areas.  He launched the successful and widely-respected Editorial Training Programme at Incisive Media, delivering much of the training himself. Many trainees from the scheme have gone onto senior editorial positions around the world. As the multi-platform, multi-media world evolved so David’s range of training courses extended from the traditional editorial skills to cover online journalism, video presentation and social media. He has delivered these courses in-house and externally in the United Kingdom, New York and Hong Kong and they can all be adapted for online delivery.

His own wide experience of appearing on radio and television, in addition to managing the television studios and developing programme formats at Incisive Media, makes him an ideal choice for video and media training. He has delivered this for both journalists and those who need to be confident when appearing in front of the camera and microphone representing their firms.

Presentation Skills book cover

Years of experience are distilled into my new book

As a top-class presenter and facilitator he can engage face-to-face or online audiences in a lively, well-researched and innovative style. His experience ranges from roundtables and business conferences, through university lectures, to addressing a packed Royal Albert Hall. As well as the UK, he has spoken at and facilitated events in the United States, Europe and the Far East. He has used his extensive experience as a speaker to create a unique and powerful package of training courses, coaching and mentoring in presentation skills. This advice is now also available in his book, From Behind the Desk to The Front of the Stage, published by Business Expert Press.

As an early adopter of social media, David Worsfold has explored all the major networks and understands their strengths and weaknesses. He is exceptionally well-placed to advise media companies, small and large businesses and charities on how to build a social media strategy that will meet their needs. His guide to Twitter for Financial Services was published by Business Expert Press in 2017.

With a wide experience of managing change in a fast-moving publishing environment, he is ideally placed to help develop, re-focus or build dynamic, successful editorial and publishing strategies in order to meet the challenges of the digital era.

His first book, a historical biography entitled Fighting for the Empire, was published by Sabrestorm Publishing in September 2016. A second historical book, Operation Aerial, about the post-Dunkirk evacuations from France in June 1940 was published June 2022. This has attracted a lot of interest and David has appeared on BBC national news and in a Channel 5 documentary series talking about aspects of it.

He offers a series of talks for book clubs, historical and specialist interest groups.

As an all-round excellent communicator, David is well-equipped to help different types of business review, focus and develop effective communication strategies.
